Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor of Architecture
Job Summary
The Department of Architecture at Harvard University's Graduate School of Design seeks applicants for full-time and/or part-time positions at Open Rank. The department prioritizes full-time tenure track positions but will also consider part-time senior and junior Professorships in Practice of Architecture and various Lecturer positions.
About the Role
The successful candidate or candidates will demonstrate expertise in design, actively participating in design pedagogy of the core studio curriculum. Specialization in Design Innovation/Spatial Practice, Construction/Material Culture, or Climate/Sustainability is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Teach required design studio courses for students in the professional MArch programs.
- Offer lecture courses and research-based seminars in their area of scholarship to students across professional and post-professional tracks.
- Engage with design students and faculty through thesis advising, guest critiques, and project reviews.
Requirements
- Hold a Master of Architecture or related advanced degree.
- Show promise of an innovative approach and a clear voice in the discipline that contributes to the discourse of architecture.
- Demonstrate investment in design scholarship and critical and creative studio pedagogy, particularly with respect to teaching foundational design.
- Have relevant work experience in architectural design, exemplary practice, and a record of scholarship.
- Have more than three years of teaching experience.
Qualifications
- Professionally licensed (desirable but not required).
- Reside in Cambridge/Boston, MA.
Benefits
The appointment is expected to start in AY 2027-2028.

The salary range is competitive and commensurate with experience.
