About the role
Soccer Stars is a leading youth sports organization serving children ages 12 months to 13 years throughout Long Island and Eastern Queens. We deliver high-quality soccer classes, camps, and clinics at various locations including schools, community centers, parks, and other local partner locations. Our curriculum focuses on developing fundamental soccer skills while fostering confidence, teamwork, communication, coordination, and character development. Additionally, we offer multisport and non-contact martial arts programs.
Responsibilities
- Arrive on time and prepared for each assigned session
- Deliver structured, energetic, and age-appropriate soccer instruction
- Follow the Soccer Stars curriculum and Coaching Manual
- Create a safe, inclusive, and non-competitive learning environment
- Provide individualized attention and encouragement
- Use positive reinforcement to support participation and skill development
- Help children build confidence, coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship
- Maintain professional communication with parents, teachers, site staff, and team members
- Participate in regular training and coaching evaluations
- Respond positively to feedback and continuously improve instructional performance
- Represent Soccer Stars professionally at all partner locations
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable personal transportation
- Willingness to travel to various locations throughout Long Island
- Ability to successfully complete a background check
- Consistent reliability and punctuality
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Passion for sports, fitness, youth development, and working with young children, particularly those ages 1-5
Qualifications
- Experience or education in youth soccer or sports coaching, athletics, physical education, exercise science, kinesiology, fitness instruction, dance, cheerleading, gymnastics, martial arts, camp counseling, early childhood education, elementary education, substitute teaching, childcare, or youth programming is preferred
- Prior coaching experience is helpful but not required

Pay
$20-$45 per hour based on education and experience
Schedule and Availability
- Monday - Friday: 9:00 AM-12:00 PM
- Monday - Friday: 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM
- Saturday: 9:00 AM-2:00 PM
- Sunday: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
