Professional Surveyor

About the role

The Surveyor will work with the manager to complete all types of land survey functions. Our Field Services Team offers a fast-paced, highly collaborative work environment with the opportunity to gain immediate hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with the manager to complete all types of land survey functions
• Regularly stand and/or walk while holding tools or objects in the field
• Reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, and crouch
• Regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds
• Meet the physical demands that are essential to the job
• Work in the field with survey teams on various types of survey projects
• Quickly solve daily survey related problems and complete projects in a timely manner
• Operate data collectors, conventional, robotic, and GPS equipment
• Willingness to travel to sites 30% of the time with overnight travel

Requirements

• Registered Licensed Surveyor in the State of Alabama
• Familiarity with Public Land Survey System (PLSS)
• Familiarity with processing survey data from filed to finish, preparing property boundary surveys, topographic surveys, ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, and subdivision plats
• Must be willing to work in the field with survey teams on various types of survey projects
• Knowledge of survey principles and practices
• Able to quickly solve daily survey related problems and complete projects in a timely manner
• Ability to operate data collectors, conventional, robotic, and GPS equipment
• Valid driver's license
• Effective written and verbal communication
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Qualifications

• Minimum Requirements: Registered Licensed Surveyor in the State of Alabama
• Preferred Skills: Ability to give direction and mentor both experienced and new hire survey technicians; Open to more experienced candidates
