About the role

DLZ Corporation is seeking a Professional Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Columbus, OH. This position offers opportunities to innovate and collaborate, driving meaningful impact through surveying assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform surveying assignments requiring a solid grasp of surveying principles and the exercise of professional judgement.
  • Establish right of way lines and property boundaries from field collected data and public records.
  • Use collected data to provide mapping for engineering projects and construction plans.
  • Prepare and certify various types of plats, maps, descriptions, reports, and exhibits.
  • Aid and mentor survey office and field personnel in the performance of their duties.
  • Perform all work in a safe and responsible manner, in accordance with the Health and Safety Plan.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying / Mapping, or another relevant field.
  • Ohio Professional Survey license is required.
  • The ability to become licensed in surrounding states is a plus.
  • Have the ability to obtain ODOT Right-of-Way Designer/Reviewer Certification.
  • 5 or more years relevant experience as a Professional Surveyor.
  • Civil3D and Tremble Survey equipment experience preferred.
  • Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites and comply with all applicable safety codes and requirements, including a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours and travel as needed.

Skills

  • Proficiency in Civil3D and Tremble Survey equipment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Ohio and surrounding state surveying standards and regulations.
