About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Professional Surveyor & Mapper to oversee surveying operations and ensure the accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance of boundary surveys and platting deliverables, primarily supporting new home construction and residential development projects.

Responsibilities

  • Review deeds, title reports, legal records, survey records, plans, specifications, and other research materials to support survey production.
  • Analyze property information and establish property boundaries for residential development and new construction projects.
  • Direct and oversee boundary surveying activities and coordinate with field survey crews.
  • Review field notes, daily records, measurements, and survey data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare, review, and interpret survey maps, reports, plats, and legal descriptions.
  • Write and review legal descriptions associated with boundary and property surveys.
  • Oversee survey production from initial research and fieldwork through final deliverables.
  • Perform quality control reviews to ensure survey products are accurate and complete before client delivery.
  • Ensure all surveying work complies with applicable Florida laws, regulations, and professional standards.
  • Coordinate effectively with surveyors, field crews, project teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies or issues within survey data and documentation.
  • Ensure assignments are completed accurately, efficiently, and within established deadlines.
  • Provide technical direction and professional oversight to surveying teams.

Requirements

  • Active Florida Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM) license required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience using Carlson surveying software.
  • Proven experience managing, supervising, or directing survey crews.
  • Strong knowledge of land surveying principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Hands-on familiarity with surveying field equipment and standard field procedures.
  • Experience with boundary surveys, property research, and residential/new construction projects preferred.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret deeds, title documents, plats, plans, and survey records.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines.
  • Valid driver's license.

  • Residential land development and new home construction surveying.
  • Boundary and topographic surveys.
  • Platting and legal descriptions.
  • Survey quality control and final deliverable review.
  • Field crew coordination and survey project management.
  • Carlson Survey software.
