Professional Services Engineer

About the role

Farsight is the agentic AI platform for financial services, helping investment banks and private equity firms automate workflows. As a Professional Services Engineer, you will be the technical expert who makes deployments happen, working with customers' IT, security, and infrastructure teams to scope, architect, and deliver Farsight across hosted VPC, customer cloud, and on‑premise environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of customer deployments (customer VPC, customer cloud, on‑premise) from kickoff through production go‑live.
• Partner with customer IT, security, and infrastructure teams to review architecture, network topology, identity and access requirements, and data flows, driving technical approvals to closure.
• Support pre‑sales technical scoping, including dataflow diagrams, architecture documentation, and responses to security and compliance questionnaires.
• Work with Strategy and Ops and GTM to confirm technical feasibility before commitments are made, communicating constraints clearly.
• Build and maintain deployment automation using infrastructure‑as‑code (AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform) so every deployment is repeatable, auditable, and secure.
• Design and document runbooks, reference architectures, and onboarding playbooks, and run knowledge transfer sessions.
• Troubleshoot deployment and integration issues in customer environments, working with Infrastructure and Platform Engineering to resolve root causes and feed fixes back into the product.
• Serve as the technical voice of the customer internally, surfacing recurring deployment friction and requirements to inform infrastructure and product roadmap.
• Support customer technical escalations and post‑deployment health, including monitoring, upgrades, and change‑control coordination.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, DevOps, solutions architecture, or professional services/consulting with a strong customer‑facing component.
• Deep knowledge of AWS services (ECS, EC2, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, CloudWatch, RDS, IAM, SSM, VPC networking) and experience designing and deploying production workloads on AWS.
• Strong proficiency with infrastructure‑as‑code tools (AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform) and containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience deploying software into enterprise or regulated customer environments, navigating security reviews, network restrictions, and formal change‑control processes.
• Solid understanding of cloud security and compliance frameworks (SOC2, GDPR, ISO) and ability to speak credibly with customer security and compliance teams.
• Strong communicator who can explain complex infrastructure concepts to technical and non‑technical stakeholders and builds trust quickly with senior customer counterparts.
• Comfortable operating independently with limited structure, managing multiple customer engagements, and figuring things out without an existing playbook.
• Able to write clear technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and runbooks.
• NYC‑based and able to work onsite, with willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
