About the role

This Professional Rater I position is full-time in the Department of Psychiatry. The rater will assist study coordinators in numerous phases of multiple studies led by Dr. Chad Sylvester.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administer behavioral assessments for participants age 4 months to 12 years, including set-up, providing age-appropriate instructions for child/parent, and entering data in a timely manner.
  • Screen, consent, and schedule participants via phone and in-person as research protocols dictate.
  • Auxiliary with the administration of fMRIs for infant and child participants. Guide parents and children through the process by providing thorough instructions and responding appropriately to subject concerns.
  • Manage administrative tasks including organizing and managing subject databases, data entry, tracking and ordering supplies, etc.
  • Write and modify IRB protocols.
  • Interact with children of all ages in various experimental settings.
  • Auxiliary with the training and supervision of student volunteers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
  • Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
  • Some evening and weekend availability is required for this position.
