About the Role

The Professional Learning Analyst supports the design, planning, and implementation of District-wide professional learning and development initiatives and projects aligned with the District’s strategic plan and the Professional Learning and Support Department’s Theory of Action.

This role involves collaborating with the Professional Development Management Team, school administration, and central office employees to collect and review professional learning data, analyze trends, and plan solutions for teacher learning through project planning. The Analyst communicates results and provides follow-up support, while also supporting the design of high-quality professional learning (PL) across the district and monitoring its quality and implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain narrative and statistical reports, records, correspondence, and files related to assigned services and ad-hoc activities.
  • Use data to identify trends for teachers across the District, groups of schools, or individual teachers to ensure effective project implementation and adherence to schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Make recommendations to the Director of PL on capitalizing on successful strategies.
  • Create professional learning project plans to address data trends and support assigned projects (e.g., New Teacher Mentors, PL Catalog and Management Systems, video-enhanced professional development).
  • Establish and execute project communication plans for prioritized projects, ensuring consistent updates to Professional Learning Management and staff on status, risks, and issues.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of district-wide PL delivered by other central office departments by reviewing and providing feedback on PL proposals.
  • Consult with other departments on PL design and provide feedback on departmental PL plans and execution.
  • Attend PL sessions across the district to monitor quality and provide feedback.
  • Support the execution of district-wide PL and foster a deep understanding of content standards to design and deliver aligned professional learning for teachers and district office staff.
  • Address complex problems with innovative and ingenious solutions to achieve quality and work process improvements.
  • Analyze instructional technology strategies and teacher processes.
  • Assist with special projects, such as multimedia and telecommunications.
  • Collaborate with professionals and management to achieve system-wide results impacting student academic achievement (e.g., leading focus groups, managing peers toward deadlines, providing feedback).
  • Liaise with the Instructional Technology team and IT Department to ensure technology and data support district initiatives.
  • Support the use of the Learning Management System for all professional development.
  • Work with the PL Clerk to organize necessary trainings.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or directed.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public or Business Administration, Human Resources, Education, or a closely related field.
  • Four (4) years of related experience, or equivalent, for a total education/experience of eight (8) years.
  • Professional experience as a teacher preferred.

Degree Equivalency Formula:

  • Bachelor’s Degree = 4 years plus required years of experience.
  • Master’s Degree = 2 years plus required years of experience (where Master’s degrees are required, years for Bachelor’s Degrees must be included).
