About the role
The Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) will manage, plan, schedule, and perform multiple survey projects and personnel. The role involves applying sound survey principles, reviewing and approving field measurements, and preparing survey documents. The PLS will also direct field surveys as needed for scheduling, supervisory, and quality control purposes.
Responsibilities
- Experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Conduct field surveys to gather data for land boundary determinations and topographic mapping.
- Prepare and process legal descriptions, plats, and maps for recording purposes.
- Communicate with clients, team members, and stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technology and techniques in land surveying.
- Maintain and update records and reports related to surveying activities.
- Familiarity with GIS and mapping software.
- Work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Some travel may be required.
Requirements
- Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in one or more of the following states: TX, LA, MS, AL, GA, or FL.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in land surveying.
- A.S. or B.S. Degree from an accredited college or university (preferred).

- Working knowledge of Trimble survey equipment and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Work Environment

- Frequent sitting and operating a computer.
- Must be able to use body members to work, move, or carry objects or office materials.
- Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally.
- Physical demands are at levels typical for sedentary work.
