About the role
Olsson is seeking a Project Surveyor to join our Survey team in Missouri. This role is ideal for a newly licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) who is ready to take the next step in their career by applying technical expertise, expanding project responsibilities, and growing leadership skills.
As a Project Surveyor, you'll support a variety of surveying projects including boundary, topographic, ALTA, right-of-way, construction, and land development surveys. You'll work closely with survey crews, technicians, project managers, and clients to deliver accurate, high-quality survey data that supports successful project outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and perform survey project work from planning through completion.
- Review survey data, calculations, plats, and legal descriptions for accuracy and quality.
- Research deeds, plats, easements, survey records, and other documents supporting survey projects.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, field staff, and clients to meet project goals.
- Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, scope development, and proposal preparation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to survey technicians and field personnel.
- Support field operations and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and accurately.
- Contribute to maintaining organized project records, survey files, and documentation.
Requirements
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) licensure in Missouri required.
- A minimum of eight years of surveying experience, including boundary, topographic, ALTA, construction, platting, and/or right-of-way surveys.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, engineers, contractors, and project teams.
- Associate degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field preferred.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
