Professional Land Surveyor

Ayres Associates is seeking a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join its growing team in Madison, Wisconsin. The position is primarily office‑based with occasional field support.

What You’ll Do

• Perform surveying, mapping, and project‑related tasks.
• Develop and review deliverables using survey software and CADD platforms.
• Collaborate with project managers, crew chiefs, technicians, and fellow survey professionals.
• Prepare and review survey documents and project deliverables.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Support safety initiatives and undertake occasional field assignments.

What We’re Looking For

• Associate degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field, or a bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying.
• 5+ years of land surveying experience in design surveys (transportation, utility, municipal, site development), geospatial control and LiDAR QA/QC, construction layout, and land surveys (including ALTA and WisDOT right‑of‑way plats).
• Wisconsin Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license or ability to obtain licensure within six months.
• Experience using survey equipment, software, and CADD platforms to support project delivery and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
