Professional Engineer, Water-Wastewater
TKDA, a 100% employee-owned engineering firm with 115 years of proven expertise, is seeking a Professional Water-Wastewater Engineer to join our team at our Bloomington office.
About the Role
We're looking for a civil engineer with prior water/wastewater experience or a strong passion for creating clean water solutions. You'll design everything from drinking water treatment systems to wastewater collection networks, working on complex projects locally in Minnesota, while continuing to serve our established clients throughout the country.
Responsibilities
- Design drinking water treatment systems and wastewater collection networks
- Collaborate with multi-disciplined project teams
- Manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets
- Prepare technical reports and specifications
- Participate in project team discussions and interact with clients and contractors
- Coach, mentor, and develop less experienced engineering professionals
- Assist with market development activities to secure new contract opportunities
- Leverage technical knowledge to establish, cultivate, and enhance client relationships
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering with an emphasis on water and wastewater treatment, hydraulic design, and/or infrastructure design
- Professional Engineer in the State of Minnesota (or ability to obtain within 12 months)
- Minimum of four (4) years of progressive experience with water and wastewater projects
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
- Desire or demonstrated ability to manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets
- Ability to work outdoors, including walking and climbing over rough terrain while carrying up to 40 pounds and/or standing for extended periods of time
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Qualifications
- Previous project management experience or related responsibilities
- Experience collaborating with or leading a multi-disciplined project team
- Experience assisting with market development activities to secure new contract opportunities
- Working knowledge of ArcMap, SWWM, AFT Fathom, SewerCAD, HydroCAD, WaterCAD and/or Revit

The listed salary range reflects base pay for candidates with 4-12 years of related experience. Compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and responsibilities.
Schedule
A hybrid work environment is offered with Tuesday - Thursday in-office and Monday & Friday WFH required.
