About the Opportunity:The Professional Billing Charge Capture role is responsible for accurately assigning medical codes by interpreting clinical documentation and applying relevant coding guidelines. This position contributes to the organization by ensuring proper documentation and coding quality, which supports efficient health service delivery and compliance. 3. Responsibilities:• Extract relevant clinical details and assign medical codes based on disease processes• Use reference materials and software to identify appropriate medical codes• Interpret clinical documentation with an understanding of anatomy, physiology, and coding subjects• Generate and follow up on queries for unclear or incomplete documentation• Apply coding rules, guidelines, and relevant regulations to make code determinations• Manage multiple tasks to meet productivity and turnaround time standards• Participate in medical coding quality audits and resolve discrepancies• Educate and mentor colleagues to improve coding quality• Maintain compliance with professional codes of ethics and certification requirements• Utilize computer software and clinical applications for coding and data management 4. Requirements:• High School Diploma or GED• Minimum 2 years of experience with documentation for procedures, supplies, and E&M levels• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems, specifically Epic• Preferred certification: Coder credentials from AAPC (CPC) or AHIMA (CCS, RHIT, RHIA)• Strong communication skills and ability to meet performance metrics 5.
