Professional Aide

This is a temporary or on-call position providing professional support in general business, science, medical, agricultural, or other professional areas.

About the role

Looking for research assistants who can speak Pennsylvania Dutch and are comfortable operating a computer. Research assistants will assist in:

• Processing and correcting transcriptions of Pennsylvania Dutch interviews
• Translating interviews into English
• Developing outreach and pedagogical materials using transcriptions and translations

Schedule

• Temporary: Can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a one-week break in service in between. After the second term, must terminate for three (3) months or switch to on-call status.
• On-Call: Allowed to work up to 1,039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Work Arrangement

This position is remote-friendly, meaning some or all duties can be performed remotely as mutually agreed upon.
