Professional Aide

About the role

This is a temporary or on-call position providing professional support in research assistance. Research assistants will assist in processing and correcting transcriptions of Pennsylvania Dutch interviews, translating interviews into English, and developing outreach and pedagogical materials using transcriptions and translations.

Temps can work two (2) nine (9) month terms with a week break in service in between and must terminate for three (3) months at the end of the second term or switch to an on-call status. On-call employees are allowed to work up to 1,039 hours in any twelve (12) month period.

Requirements

• Ability to speak Pennsylvania Dutch
• Comfortable operating a computer

Schedule

On-call, remote-friendly. Some or all duties can be performed remotely as mutually agreed upon.
