Production Worker - Temporary, Part Time

About the Role

General Motors is seeking highly motivated individuals for current and potential future opportunities at our Saginaw facility. As a Production Team Member, you will be responsible for assembly, machining, quality checks, tool changes, and problem-solving of manufacturing processes and equipment. This temporary, part-time role offers hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology and opportunities for skill growth in a dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize and maintain a safe workplace for everyone, executing all work safely and contributing to a culture of safety.
• Thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, adapting to frequent job duty changes as required.
• Complete tasks with precision and top-notch quality within designated timeframes.
• Operate tools, machinery, and equipment (e.g., tugger) to load, unload, transfer, and move materials, including at heights up to 35 feet.
• Read, comprehend, and follow written, standardized work instructions and trained procedures.
• Cooperate and contribute to a dynamic team environment.

Physical Requirements

• Quick response to safety instructions, alarms, and signals.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Comfortably wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Navigate a busy environment, including bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
• Lift or carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs., depending on the department.
• Occasional sitting during certain tasks.
• Drive mobile equipment when needed.

Requirements

• 18+ years old.
• Flexible shift availability.
• Availability to work a maximum of 32 hours per week.
• Must satisfactorily complete GM’s hiring process, including drug testing and a background check.
• Proficiency in listening, reading, and following work and safety instructions.

Pay

Competitive pay of $21.00 per hour, with shift premiums:

• 5% premium for 2nd shift.
• 10% premium for 3rd shift.
