Georgia-Pacific is hiring a Production Worker for our Monticello, MS facility. Work is performed in an industrial environment that can be hot, cold, humid, noisy, and may involve exposure to dust, oil, grease, chemicals, and other substances.

About the Role

This position offers a starting pay of $24.15 per hour, with the ability to earn up to $46.61 per hour. The role operates on rotating twelve-hour shifts, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. The rotation schedule is as follows: 4 days on, 7 off, 4 nights on, 3 off, 3 days on, 1 off, 3 nights on, and 3 off (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM for days and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM for nights).

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment to defined standards and product specification targets
  • Monitor and/or enter data into computer control systems
  • Troubleshoot equipment to optimize production
  • Perform basic asset care duties, including routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of the work area
  • Work as a team to meet or exceed production, waste, quality, and safety goals
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including wearing necessary Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • Perform tasks such as sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds (with assistance), walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to 12 hours a day

Requirements

  • Three years or more of experience working in an industrial operation or maintenance environment, or an associate degree in a relevant field, or a technical certification demonstrating specialized knowledge and skills
  • Experience using math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and ability to read a tape measure
  • Experience using a computer, tablet, or smart device
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment or process issues
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions
  • Strong communication skills within the team and organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Must be able to push or pull a variety of weights

Qualifications (Preferred)

  • Pulp & Paper industry experience
  • College experience, 2-year degree, or technical certification
  • Lift truck or other industrial equipment experience
