Production Worker / Packaging Operator - Days and Graveyard shifts available

About the role

Production Worker / Packaging Operator performs bagging and baler operations, operates machinery including bagging and baler machines, shrink wrapping machines, forklifts, pallet jack, bag sealer, assists other production areas as needed, maintains a clean workstation, and performs related duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform both bagging and baler operations as determined by Shift Leads.
• Operate machinery in a productive manner using established safety guidelines and procedures.
• Assist other production areas as needed.
• Move and wrap completed products.
• Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for a minimum of 7 hours per day.
• Assist Shift Leads to start and stop the pellet mills.
• Communicate any moisture or material problems to Shift Lead.
• Maintain a clean workstation.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Bagging Operation: operate bagging and baler machines, shrink wrapping machines, forklifts, pallet jack, bag sealer; stack bags on pallets, put covers on pallets, place finished goods in correct warehouse location; accurately complete Bagger production report; fill pellet sample cups every ton for QC; tag pallets with QC tag (initials, date, ton number, shift).
• Baler Operation: stack bales on pallets, seal bales with an iron, wrap pallets; accurately complete Baler Operator production report; check bale weight; record information on various reports and QC tags.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior forklift and production line experience preferred.
• Good eye, hand, and foot coordination required.
• Must pass company forklift training.
• Ability to read and interpret scales.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills to adjust weight and timing of baler and perform simple maintenance.
• Ability to do simple math calculations.

Pay

$19-$21/hour

Schedule

Shift: 5a - 5p and 5p - 5a with overtime available
