Production Worker (Night Shift)

Responsibilities

• Knowledgeable and follows plant safety rules and departmental safety practices.
• Makes manufacturing support services for the cold mill, annealing, tension line, strand line work centers, as well as the lab.
• Provides assistance and break relief.
• Packs/wraps coils.
• Expedites scrap handling in the work centers.
• Expedites core preparation and handling in the work centers.
• Provides assistance in lab.
• Maintains housekeeping.
• Trains and qualifies in the following areas: Material Handling at Mill, Entry/Exit – Strand and Tension Lines, Scrap, Pack Line.

Qualifications

• A high school level education is required. Post high school education preferred.
• Must be a leader in safety. Demonstrates concern for personal safety and safety of others.
• Willing to participate in plant safety initiatives.
• Works as part of a team and capable of self-direction.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer and math skills.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Capable and willing to train in other job classifications.
• Good decision-making skills.
• Basic knowledge of hand tools and mechanical aptitude.
• Previous manufacturing experience and material handling experience preferred.
• Flexible to adapt to changing job focus and assignments.
