Production Worker/Operator (Night Shift)

Job Description & Responsibilities

  • Picks copper and fluff off moving conveyor
  • Assists shredder mechanics in changing out conveyors, bearing shafts, and greasing
  • Keeps the work area clean and ready for daily operations
  • Ensures conveyor bearings are clean and properly greased
  • Pick and sort quality material
  • Reports any issues immediately as they arise
  • Assists shredder mechanics during projects
  • Assists in meeting monthly production goals
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Performs lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures before working on any plant equipment
  • Cross-trains in other departments to provide coverage during short staffing

Requirements

  • Completion of High School Diploma, GED, or passing company comprehensive assessment
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift materials up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand for up to 12 hours, with regular walking, squatting, climbing, bending, and twisting
  • Ability to work in variable weather conditions, including hot, dry summer conditions and cold, harsh winter conditions
  • Self-Motivated: Takes initiative and acts proactively without being prompted
  • Strong Work Ethic: Uses time efficiently, works safely, and ensures those around them are working safely
  • Strong command of the English language, both written and spoken
  • Recycling or mining experience is considered an asset
  • Being mechanically inclined is considered an asset
