Production Worker

About the role

Washington Mills is a trusted producer of abrasive, ceramic, and refractory grains and powders. We are seeking a Production Worker to join our team in Tonawanda, NY. The ideal candidate should have a strong commitment to safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and organize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Department Supervisor and be accountable for continuous product throughput
• Inform management of production unit operations, identifying problem areas and suggesting solutions
• Work closely with other operators in the production unit
• Perform various packaging, cleaning, sampling, and material transfer tasks
• Strive for zero defects and optimize unit throughput
• Coordinate with the Supervisor to meet departmental budget

Requirements

• A strong commitment to safety
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work in a plant environment, including walking up and down stairs and ladders
• The ability to troubleshoot problems
• Good organizational and attention to detail skills
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office)
