Job Description

Position: Production Worker / Caulk Line Packer
Location: Beavercreek, OH
Pay Rate: $21.00 ($0.75 shift differential for 2nd & 3rd)
Shift: 2nd (3pm-11pm) & 3rd (11pm-7am)

About the Role

Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for packing fiber caulk tubes in boxes in a quick and safe manner. This position is in our Fiber Caulk Tube plant outside of Dayton, OH, where we produce Fiber Caulk Tubes to a global market serving the construction industry. We are the world's largest producer of this package.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating closely with other departments and teams
• Holding the ability to think on your feet and troubleshoot problems and situations
• Making incremental process adjustments, monitoring and reporting quality of manufactured product
• Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to clear jams and help with operational improvements
• Maintaining a safe, clean and organized work area
• Performing all duties as designated by supervisor/manager
• Supporting Sonoco’s quality and safety policies
• Helping out other departments as needed
• Performing all duties for small amounts of time on elevated platforms

Requirements

• Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success
• A proven record of success in a fast-paced environment
• The ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the packing line
• Taking pride in personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience in a production or manufacturing environment preferred
• Ability to read and understand safety procedures
• Strong organizational and attention to detail skills
