About the role
We are searching for a motivated and experienced Production Worker to conduct various production functions in our packing department.
Responsibilities
- Perform various jobs in the bread process, such as orienting bread prior to entering blast freezers and working in bagging or packaging areas.
- Inspect rolls or bread products and place them in specified order for entry into blast freezers.
- Weigh product and report inconsistencies to lead packer or Packing supervisor.
- Properly label boxes according to product specifications.
- Inspect product for open seams, inconsistencies, or nonconforming attributes (shape, size, weight, color, appearance) and remove defective items.
- Fabricate and assemble boxes by inserting them through a sealing machine; insert plastic liners in boxes and place on conveyors or rollers.
- Rotate with other workers within the department as directed by Leads and Supervisors.
- Alert direct supervision of any complications in production, safety, or employee relations.
- Work as a team to assist co-workers when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Contribute to a continuous improvement culture.
- Attend company-scheduled meetings (e.g., safety, production, department meetings).
- Inform direct supervision of any problems or safety hazards.
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and directives regarding workplace behavior, safety, GMP regulations, and OSHA lock-out/tag-out requirements.
- Follow food safety and safe food handling practices; complete mandatory Food Safety Training and demonstrate knowledge of SQF code.
Requirements
- High school education or GED.
- Up to one year of related experience.
