About the Role
The Production Worker is responsible for operating and maintaining line equipment, monitoring the process, and assisting the production line with the preparation and packaging of products. This role ensures all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety, and quality standards are met while maintaining the efficient flow of product through the production process. Functions as a team member within the department and performs any duties assigned to best serve the company.
Responsibilities
- Works on the production line according to procedures, switching positions every two hours as required.
- Follows all safety procedures and participates in safety training.
- Maintains safe and efficient use of equipment, tools, and personal safety practices.
- Reports any injury, accident, or unsafe condition immediately to supervision.
- Adheres to GMP, ServSafe, HACCP, SQF, OSHA, and OLM Food Solutions standards.
- Learns and applies Lean Manufacturing practices, 6 Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Performs general labor tasks, including stacking product on pallets.
- Operates the inserter, starts up and shuts down line operations, and sets up/changeovers for metal detection and box taper machines.
- Utilizes box and bag makers, operates the cheese sealer, and runs the pallet stacker for 25-pound cases.
- Operates simple and complex machinery as a Machine Operator.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience/training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to read and comprehend documents, instructions, and product labels.
- Electric pallet jack and HACCP certification preferred.
- Basic math skills with the ability to calculate figures and amounts.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and handle abstract and concrete variables.

Physical Demands
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and use hands to grip regularly.
- Frequent exposure to extreme cold (below 0°F) temperatures.
- Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, with the ability to adjust focus.
- Maintains professional appearance and grooming standards as outlined.
