Production Unit Leader

About the role

The Production Supervisor will manage small work teams in a fast-paced, high-volume, unionized manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring the production plan is met
• Analyzing issues and driving continuous improvement
• Improving safety and enforcing safety protocols
• Understanding and improving quality KPIs
• Allocating manpower effectively and managing absenteeism
• Leading kaizen projects focused on safety, cost, quality, and throughput improvements

Responsibilities

Coordinate all activities to meet business metrics, implement SIS processes, and activities such as:

• Ensuring the production plan is met
• Analyzing and addressing quality issues
• Coaching and mentoring team members
• Leading kaizen projects

Requirements

Basic requirements include:

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to work any shift and overtime
• Excellent organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities
• Knowledge of the broader manufacturing organization
• Experience in supervision in a high volume environment
• Ability to build effective business relationships
• Goal-oriented self-starter with team management skills

Qualifications

Prioritizing education and experience, preferred qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
• 2+ years of supervisory experience in a high volume environment
• Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing
