About the role

Distinguished is a leading national insurance Program Manager providing specialized insurance programs to brokers and agents with expertise in Real Estate, Community Associations, Hospitality, Fine Art/Collectibles, Restaurants, Surety, Transactional Risk and Environmental/Construction Professional. Responsibilities

  • Solicit and shepherd new submissions based on program appetite.
  • Build and manage a new business pipeline through outbound interaction with brokers including outbound phone calls and in-person broker visits.
  • Gather competitor information and market intelligence and understand trends to identify opportunities for improvements to products and pricing.
  • Manage new submissions to ensure proper risk selection, premium and coverage.
  • Underwrite community association risks by identifying and analyzing risk exposures, loss frequency and severity against desired coverage.
  • Provide and create solutions for a broad range of inquiries from brokers and team members.
  • Seek out cross marketing opportunities.
  • Manage renewals to maximize policy retention including midterm servicing with various carriers and brokers, within your authority in an assigned territory.
  • Develop relationships with brokers, with the "customer experience" in mind, and deliver exceptional experiences with every interaction, in all modes of communication.
  • Work independently within deadlines while understanding the necessity for appropriate prioritization, communicating and coordinating work efforts with stakeholders.
  • Maintain quality control, compliance and proper documentation.
  • Promote teamwork and organizational success, while accepting accountability and ownership, celebrating successes and learning from past mistakes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through process, procedure, and system improvements.
  • Participate in other company projects and new initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of in-depth commercial package policy underwriting experience. Community Associations with high CAT exposure experience preferred.
  • Having a professional designation(s) is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation skills with the ability to influence and persuade.
  • Analytical and quantitative skills.
  • Must be self-driven, detail-oriented, flexible/adaptable, comfortable in a growing ever-changing organization, and have strong organizational skills including time-management and prioritization.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of commercial lines products.
  • Must possess strong and effective negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to effectively and independently manage complex workload while exhibiting very sound judgment.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain broker relationships.
  • Exemplify superior teamwork.
  • Ability to effectively penetrate and increase our new business writings.
  • Strong leadership, communication, influencing, presentation, negotiation, planning and team effectiveness skills.

  • $100,000 - $120,000 base salary plus bonus.
