Production Trimmer

About the role

Manufacture products utilizing primary and secondary processing equipment or hand assembly. Follow all procedures and work instructions to achieve optimal productivity, quality, and safety, ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction. This is a 2nd shift opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Trim the flash from the mold manually and/or using scissors.
• Review job standards before trimming the part.
• Assure product meets established quality criteria of zero non-conformances.
• Correctly record scrap every hour per work instructions.
• Apply all internal and external labels correctly, including removal of all old labels from returnable packaging.
• Apply lot control numbers correctly.
• Review all applicable quality alerts daily.
• Immediately notify Production Supervisor of all discrepancies to established quality checks or any abnormal operating conditions.
• Communicate production and quality issues/concerns with associates during staff meetings.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping in respective areas.
• Participate in team problem-solving activities (communication meetings, shift meetings, etc.) and continuous improvement activities.
• Follow all internal and OSHA-required safety and environmental procedures.
• Wear required PPE (safety glasses, ear plugs, close-toed shoes/boots with rubber sole base).
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisors and other employees.
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.

Physical Demands

• Stand on feet at least 8 hours/day and use hands to touch, handle, or feel.
• Occasionally required to talk or hear; stop, kneel, or crouch.
• Frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
• May be required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Must have good attendance and be able to work overtime as required.

Work Environment

• Tasks are performed both indoors and outdoors in a manufacturing environment.
• Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Must not wear loose-fitting clothing that may interfere with moving machinery.
• Occasionally exposed to extreme heat and vibration.
• Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
