About the role

The Production Trainer will lead classroom and on-the-job training primarily related to manufacturing and assembly processes at the Lynnwood site for production assemblers and/or technicians. Develop, maintain, and update training plans, evaluate training effectiveness, and report on training needs and resources as part of the operations organization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure new hires and transfers complete their training plan.
  • Build training plans based on Production supervisor input.
  • Schedule training (classroom or OJT) based on Production Lead input.
  • Coordinate required classroom training.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and modify training plans accordingly.
  • Provide feedback to Production Lead and Supervisor on trainee efficiency and qualifications achieved.
  • Release trainee as independent to the Production Lead upon completion of the training plan.
  • Ensure timely completion of all area training requirements.
  • Execute cross-training plans aligned with Value Stream initiatives.
  • Execute re-training to bring associates up to efficiency standards.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all co-workers.
  • Escalate personnel issues to the supervisor and uphold confidentiality.
  • Proactively communicate problems and assist in their resolution.
  • Ensure work produced in the cell complies with policies, regulations, and documentation.
  • Assure all associates perform tasks safely and abide by area safety guidelines.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by supervisor or management.
  • Ability to fill in for Production Lead as needed.
  • Ability to fill in for online training (Convergence) admin as needed.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience working in a production setting.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for maximizing effective manufacture and distribution.
  • Accurate color vision, near vision, depth perception, and other vision capabilities.
  • Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity; adept hand-eye coordination and arm-hand steadiness.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Preferred Qualifications

  • IPC Soldering and/or Rework/Repair Certification.

Working Conditions

  • Normal for a manufacturing environment.
  • May require the use of safety equipment such as eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps, and other PPE.
  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions like loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust, or fumes.
  • Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary.
  • Standing: 25% (approximate, may vary depending on work task).
  • Sitting: 75% (approximate, may vary depending on work task).
  • Lifting: up to 40 pounds.
  • Pushing: up to 40 pounds.
  • Mental/Visual: Use of soldering equipment, microscopes/magnifying glasses, computers.
  • Workspace: Assembly cell and training room.

Pay

Salary range: $27.00 - $37.69. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
