Production Trainer
Benshaw’s Production Trainer performs in-process and post-production inspections of assembled items, records and analyzes findings to ensure compliance with company, governmental, and UL standards. This role verifies workmanship standards and quality procedures during every production phase, implements training programs for new manufacturing hires, and supports Continuous Improvement (CI) projects such as 5S. The trainer also updates the Company Skill Matrix and may create employee performance and development plans.

Responsibilities
- Create and deliver training programs for new hires in manufacturing areas, including classroom and on-the-job training.
- Train all shop floor employees on basic IFS Job Packet information.
- Collaborate with the quality team to suggest and implement process improvements based on First Pass Yield (FPY) results.
- Work directly with new employees during training to establish best work practices.
- Maintain and facilitate training skill levels on the company Skills Matrix.
- Conduct inspections of in-process manufacturing and outgoing assemblies.
- Assist with the implementation of Continuous Improvement (CI) Projects.
- Support production as needed and at the manager’s request.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Perform root cause analysis of complex issues and present countermeasures using PowerPoint or other software.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical Degree strongly preferred.
- Experience with welding and fabrication equipment/tools.
- 2-3 years of experience in a U.L. 508 panel shop.
- Electrical equipment manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in measuring tools, computers, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience with business systems such as Oracle or IFS (preferred).
- Ability to work independently to complete milestones.
- Strong time-management skills and ability to set priorities.
- Willingness to work flexible hours to meet critical deadlines.
- Commitment to customer service and teamwork.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods, up to 8 or more hours per shift, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be able to safely lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds regularly, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and repetitive use of hands and arms.
- Must be able to use hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing equipment safely and effectively.
- Requires sufficient visual acuity to inspect parts, read work instructions, and perform quality checks.
- Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, moving machinery, varying temperatures, and other industrial conditions while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM. Weekend work and overtime may be required as needed.
