Production Test Technician II, 2nd Shift
About the role
Performs the set-up, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies. Determines and may develop test specifications, methods, and procedures from blueprints, drawings, and diagrams. Completes rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing.
Responsibilities
- Works in a production environment to perform testing, tuning, and troubleshooting of various components
- Carries out some manual assembly operations as part of the test function
- Carefully follows production documentation and processes, including maintaining detailed records of testing and rework performed
- Collaborates with engineering to solve production problems, including setting up and performing complex manual testing
- Participates in NPI and existing product qualification activities
- Works from a variety of documents including test specifications, wiring diagrams, schematics, etc., where complete information is frequently lacking or requires general oral engineering instructions
- Complies with standard test procedures and specifications to perform tests on highly complex electronic developmental and production components, subassemblies, and systems
- Verifies and analyzes test results; troubleshoots, repairs, and adjusts equipment to ensure its performance meets test requirements and product quality is assured; and determines when rework is necessary to ensure product compliance
- Proactively influences plans to establish and maintain necessary test infrastructure to ensure testing is performed in a sustainable and reliable manner
- Assists in the training, mentoring, and support of lower-level technicians as required
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in area of responsibility
- Demonstrated ability to read, interpret, and follow wiring diagrams, schematics, technical drawings, and work instructions
- Proficiency in the use of electronic test equipment, including digital multimeters, power supplies, and oscilloscopes
- Hands-on experience with soldering, desoldering, and rework of electronic assemblies in accordance with applicable workmanship standards
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain a Security Clearance
