Production Test Engineer

About the role

ispace U.S. is seeking a Production Test Engineer to support ongoing testing activities for our Lunar Lander and Relay Satellites. This role involves planning, executing, and analyzing comprehensive testing to accept and qualify our vehicles, subsystems, and in-house manufactured components. The ideal candidate will work closely with design engineers, AI&T members, and other teams to ensure that design/mission requirements and industry standards are met.

Responsibilities

• Work with a small, highly technical team through development, qualification, and acceptance testing of lunar lander hardware and software
• Define test requirements, environmental conditions, and instrumentation/equipment needed for our vehicles
• Develop, review, and execute test plans, procedures, and verification documentation for aerospace hardware, subsystems, and integrated systems
• Plan and coordinate test campaigns, including facility requirements, ground support equipment (GSE), instrumentation, data acquisition, safety reviews, and logistics
• Design, develop, and/or oversee fabrication of tooling & test fixtures as needed
• Execute tests with the help of test technicians, test engineers, or design team
• Analyze test data, document results, generate test reports, and provide recommendations to engineering leadership and program teams
• Collect and reduce data to determine if requirements are met. Generate test reports to stakeholders in order to validate our processes & hardware. Provide feedback and/or aid in the PMP (Preventative Maintenance Plan) and expansion of the testing team’s equipment and testing facilities
• Support root-cause investigations and corrective action implementation resulting from test failures or hardware anomalies
• Develop and maintain test equipment, fixtures, instrumentation, procedures, and laboratory capabilities to improve efficiency and repeatability
• Maintain configuration control of test articles, test equipment, procedures, and associated documentation throughout the program lifecycle
• Collaborate with other engineers, subject matter experts, and technicians to solve shop floor issues
• Document and provide resolution to non-conformances
