Based at our global headquarters in Houston, TX, the Production Technician Lead role at MetOx will operate specialized equipment that manufactures, processes, and packages high value quality product.

Responsibilities

The Production Technician Lead will work in the clean HVAC controlled high tech manufacturing environment, using sophisticated control systems that are part of the equipment to dial in the recipe, monitor, and operate several pieces of automated equipment. The Production Technician Lead will develop skills and knowledge about how that equipment performs, making them a key resource in minimizing any equipment disruption and a “go to” source of insight for engineers who are designing next generation equipment.

  • Operates specialized deposition, etching, and testing equipment according to standard operating procedures and engineering requirements
  • Monitors equipment and process performance, identify issues, and support troubleshooting to improve yield and process stability
  • Follows all safety procedures and contribute to a proactive safety culture
  • Maintains an organized work area using 5S principles
  • Performs routine inspections, basic maintenance, and TPM activities to maximize equipment reliability
  • Works flexible hours and schedule to achieve manufacturing objectives
  • Receives and manages production materials, including gas cylinders and dewars

Leadership responsibilities include:

  • Assigns tasks and responsibilities to team members to ensure efficient workflow
  • Provides coaching and day-to-day support to team members
  • Submits input on hourly employees' performance
  • Assists with onboarding and the integration of new hires
  • Provides feedback on employee performance and support supervisors on special projects
  • Trains and mentors operators on equipment, processes, and best practices

Requirements

  • High School Diploma OR GED and technical course work
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing environment or mechanical support role
  • An advanced degree may be substituted for required experience on a year-for-year basis, depending on relevance and level

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Semiconductor Manufacturing or Manufacturing Technology certification
  • Associate’s degree in Advanced Manufacturing, Semiconductor Technology, or related field

Skills

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and electronic production documentation
  • Ability to accurately document production activities, process changes, and equipment history
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and eagerness to learn complex equipment and manufacturing processes
  • Adaptability to changing priorities based on WIP, process development, and yield improvement activities
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and process issues using sound problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving manufacturing environment
  • Effective verbal and written communication and the ability to work collaboratively with operators, engineers, and maintenance personnel

Schedule

Night Shift hours are 4:00 pm to 4:00 am four days a week.
