About the role

Join our team of Production Technicians and help manufacture contact lenses that people count on every day. This role involves safely operating highly automated and technical equipment in all phases of the contact lens manufacturing process, adhering to standard operating procedures and cGMP/FDA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate highly automated and technical contact lens manufacturing equipment from multiple vendors across all phases, including manufacturing, packaging, inspection, in-process lens inspection, audit, and sterilization.
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with established work instructions, SOPs, and procedures; provide input for continuous improvement of troubleshooting and operational procedures.
• Independently identify, diagnose, correct, and document process trends, faults, and problems; utilize complex troubleshooting procedures to maximize automation reliability.
• Perform in-process quality inspections using inspection tools, including visual inspection, to assess product quality; ensure compliance with quality procedures and accurately complete documentation.
• Escalate issues to Team Leader/Group Leader, maintenance, or engineering; interface directly with support personnel regarding operational and technical issues.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, test schedules, maintenance schedules, and production schedules.
• Provide feedback for daily production reports (shift logs), including shift performance, accomplishments, and ongoing issues; coordinate creation, writing, and distribution of shift logs as needed.
• Review production reports and shift logs to understand process events occurring outside assigned work hours.
• Perform corrective and preventative maintenance of equipment in cooperation with the plant maintenance team and other shifts.
• Work independently and in a team environment; support and participate in team activities such as production meetings, in-service training, and shift crossover.
• Share job knowledge and help train new and existing team members on manufacturing processes and safety protocols.
• Participate in cross-training initiatives across multiple production areas to enhance team flexibility and workflow improvement.
• Follow all safety procedures and practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or technical certifications in related fields (electrical, mechanical, engineering) preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of related manufacturing experience; equivalent combination of education, technical certifications/trainings, and experience will be considered.
• Demonstrated understanding of troubleshooting.
• Basic math skills, including addition and subtraction.
• Basic computer skills and willingness to learn new applications and programs.
• Shift flexibility and ability to work overtime.
• Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., medical devices) is helpful but not required.
• Comfort with using computers and learning new systems.
• Commitment to quality work, attention to detail, and maintaining smooth operations.

Schedule

• Day and Night shifts available: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM.
• Follows a 2-2-3 schedule with built-in overtime and days off.
• Night shift differential: $1.25/hour.

Pay

The starting pay for this role is between $18.00 - $24.00 per hour, depending on a variety of factors. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives.
