Job Responsibilities
- Set up and operate equipment (pre-batch, milling, and dispensing) per procedures.
- Monitor equipment for proper operation, function and safety.
- Accurately weigh each item/component and combine as directed on the batch ticket; selects proper equipment for processing.
- Takes samples of ink to QC Lab.
- Adjusts batches of ink as needed for quality control.
- Properly filter and/or strain large/small batches of ink.
- Accurately weigh all containers and sets scale accordingly.
- Ensures proper containers are used and prepared for shipping.
- Pump large/small batches of ink into proper containers. Take measures to ensure accuracy.
- Take measures to ensure accuracy.
- Perform minor maintenance functions on equipment following the preventative maintenance schedule.
- Participate in department meetings regarding a variety of topics, i.e., safety, process improvement, plant operations.
- Perform shipping and receiving duties as needed.
- Assist with maintenance when needed.
- Prioritize workflow on their assigned machine or equipment.
- As needed, serves as back up for other production technicians or other production staff.
- Complete product sheets, checking for accuracy.
- Communicate status of work to other shifts, as needed.
- Follow all safety procedures, environmental requirements, permit conditions, and safe work practices.
- Use required personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Handle, label, store, and dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Comply with environmental programs related to hazardous waste, spill prevention, stormwater protection, chemical storage, air emissions, and pollution prevention.
- Immediately report safety incidents, near misses, spills, equipment malfunctions, and environmental concerns.
- Participate in inspections, audits, investigations, and corrective actions to support continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
- Follow operating procedures designed to maintain environmental compliance and promptly report abnormal operating conditions or potential environmental impacts.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months production experience is preferred.
