Production Technician I - 1st Shift

Primary Purpose Of Position

Avoids repetitive verbiage and placeholders.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company Safety Rules and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s)
• Follow all SOP’s (standard operating procedures) for the operation of the equipment used
• Maintain safe working conditions for employees and compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding health and safety issues
• Produce high quality products in a safe and healthful manner
• Meet or exceed performance metrics including efficiency, production, downtime
• Work in all areas of production and packaging, as assigned, which includes operating, being in close proximity to and crossing over or under machinery
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job and perform as a member of a team
• Will perform a variety of production tasks: including lifting, stacking, dumping, pushing and pulling of frozen fruit boxes
• Must be able to work any shift, overtime, weekends and/or holidays
• Complete routine documentation associated with the manufacture of product
• Identify visual defects and make correction as needed, and identify and distinguish between colors
• Must be able to work in areas of varying temperatures

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and interpret documents such as box markings, labels, schedules, safety rules, GMP’s and general instructions
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of manufacturing process and equipment
• Previous operating experience preferred
• Ability to work in a high paced environment
• Reliable attendance is an essential function of the job
• Operate manual and motorized pallet jack and walkie stacker
• High School graduate or equivalent preferred

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to pass job specific Physical Ability Test (PAT)
• Must be able to stand for 8+ hours on concrete and/or metal grating
• Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 60 lbs. on frequent basis
• Must be able to bend/stoop/squat/twist, kneel and turn throughout workday for varying lengths of time
• Must be able to reach with hands and arms below shoulder level to above shoulder level
• Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from 40-47 degrees Fahrenheit
• Must be able to squat and/or kneel and to bend on frequent basis
• Must be able to climb stairs
• Requires climbing, standing, walking, squatting, kneeling, lifting and other physical movements to perform job
