Production Technician

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Pre-Test/QC and Test completed systems.
• Assemble control panels and equipment to meet client and product specifications.
• Use hand and power tools as required.
• Read and understand electrical schematics.
• Assist with routine shop and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED equivalent OR relevant experience. Minimum of 2 years in mechanical assembly/mechanical repair or associated field. Satisfactory completion of additional background screening (if applicable).
• Physical Requirements: Safety glasses and equipment for daily use. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn, and this can be obtained from the MCG Fastenal cabinet. Hand protection, either cut resistant gloves or Leather work gloves as appropriate. Hearing protection when required. Earmuffs assigned by safety office for fabrication area. Steel or Composite toe boots or shoes for daily use will be purchased by the Technician. Reimbursement may be requested for one pair once a year.
• Physical Exertion: May be required to regularly stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, frequently stand or walk around the work area, and lift or move objects up to 50 lbs. Assembling may involve manipulating small parts and using hand tools. Good hand-eye coordination and dexterity are essential for this job. Comfortable with occasional repetitive motions. Must be able to follow instructions and stay alert to potential hazards on the shop floor. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the assigned facilities.
