Production Technician

Position Overview

As a Production Technician, you’ll join a production crew, reporting to a supervisor of an assigned production area. Your role involves contributing to the success of Ball by observing operating principles of all assigned equipment and adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

The Tampa plant operates in a high-volume, fast-paced 24/7-365 days/year manufacturing environment. Crews rotate shifts from days to nights every 4 weeks (6a-6p/6p-6a).

About the Role

• Follow all 5S standards and job safety practices and policies, including food safety, personal protective equipment, emergency procedures, etc.
• Operate, adjust, and repair high-speed production equipment to meet plant production goals.
• Absorb and perform preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Inspect aluminum for proper quality standards and customer specifications.
• Build positive relationships across designated teams by effectively collaborating, communicating, and upholding ethical integrity.

Required Experience and Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent education.
• 1-year minimum experience in a mechanical job-related field with demonstrated mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in the use of hand and power tools.

Preferred Experience and Skills

• 2 years’ work experience in a high-speed manufacturing environment.

Physical Environment and Working Conditions

May be subject to hot/cold working conditions, loud/noisy environments, standing and walking for prolonged periods, climbing (stairs, and other equipment as necessary).

Compensation and Benefits

• Starting Hourly Rate: $32.40
• This role is eligible to participate in the annual incentive compensation plan.

Onsite Work Environment: This position is based in our Tampa, FL plant and requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site. Travel and local commute between Ball locations and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.
