Production Technician 1
About the role
The production assistant supports production by handling routine tasks and laboratory logistics, clean-up, and planning. They assist with daily tasks such as filling vials and bottles, packing boxes, and inventory management. They also help with kit assembling and pick/pack tasks as required. The role involves preparing and cleaning up equipment used in experiments, tests, and production, helping in the setup and breakdown of experiments and demonstrations, and completing quality control and quality assurance processes.
The ideal candidate should have some understanding in Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Biology, attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist lab staff with daily tasks, including but not limited to filling vials and bottles, packing boxes, and inventory management.
- Aid with kit assembling and pick/pack tasks as required.
- Prepare and clean up equipment used in experiments, tests, and production.
- Help in the setup and breakdown of experiments and demonstrations as needed.
- Complete quality control and quality assurance processes to ensure the reliability of lab results (temperature monitoring, weigh check, etc.).
- Follow established protocols and safety standards to ensure accurate and consistent results.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure project goals and timelines are met.
- Stay attuned to advancements in lab techniques and technology.
- Strictly adhere to safety protocols at all times to prevent accidents and hazardous events.
- Monitor and report any issues or malfunctions with equipment to the appropriate personnel.
- Cross-train across related functions to ensure operational flexibility and team coverage.
- Support other team members during staff absences, peak demand, or special projects.
- Perform all other duties as assigned, including any additional responsibilities necessary to support the success of the department and organization.

Pay
The pay range for this position is $20 - $25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
The production assistant works almost exclusively in a Production environment, including:
- Walk-in refrigerator
- Walk-in freezer
- Use of tow motor
- Routine lifting and/or moving of boxes, sometimes up to 50 pounds or more
- Frequent walking in the department and throughout the entire facility
- Ascending and descending ladders to retrieve or put away material safely and without limitation
Work hours are typically Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.
