Production Team Member - 1st Shift

Responsibilities

• Aid in the operation of machinery and equipment to ensure smooth production.
• Work closely with other production associates and team members to optimize workflow.
• Load and unload raw materials and cheese using food manufacturing equipment like hoists and conveyors.
• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment by moving products and materials.
• Conduct regular quality checks and complete quality documentation.
• Clean and maintain equipment, tools, and work areas according to sanitation procedures.
• Adhere to food safety policies and regulations, including ERU policies, FDA, HACCP, GMP, and OSHA guidelines.
• Follow safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Attend safety and department meetings and complete required training.
• Identify and report potential safety hazards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in cheese making or food manufacturing is preferred but not required.
• The ability to operate electric pallet jacks safely.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• An eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
• Physical stamina for lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, and bending, twisting, and squatting.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to adapt to changes and work overtime or extended shifts.

Physical Requirements

• Constantly use hands and fingers to handle objects and controls.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
• Sometimes lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Occasionally push or pull up to 40 pounds.
• Constantly reach, stand, walk, bend, twist, and squat.
• Constantly talk and hear.
• Constantly exposed to moderate noise levels.
• Occasionally exposed to food-grade chemicals for sanitation.
• Frequently exposed to odors and air particulates from cheese making and aging.
