Production Team Leader - Manufacturing Manager

About the Role

This role leads a team of production associates ensuring adherence to Safety, Quality, and Manufacturing standards. Responsibilities include supervision, planning, execution, analytics, and application of Lean principles. The position is a critical cross-functional partner delivering reliability and consistency throughout the manufacturing process, executing within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices, procedures, and guidance while utilizing judgement to achieve optimal outcomes and improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Compliance and Environmental, Health & Safety efforts in support of plant goals.
  • Oversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees, including hiring, employee development, discipline, and time/attendance.
  • Monitor and improve productivity while ensuring customer commitments are met in a timely, cost-conscious manner without compromising quality standards.
  • Drive LEAN manufacturing implementation and sustain/improve efforts.
  • Collaborate with other managers to generate continuous improvement ideas and implement those that yield bottom-line results.
  • Track and report metrics such as labor hour consumption, work order completion, inventory accuracy, throughput, and capacity.
  • Establish team goals that meet or exceed quality standards.
  • Develop and create training plans to maximize workforce capability and compliance (area training ownership).
  • Collaborate with other Production Team Leaders (PTLs) to ensure alignment across manufacturing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of production, supply chain, or leadership experience, or High School diploma/GED with a minimum of 10 years of production, supply chain, or leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience identifying and implementing best practices while managing ambiguity.
  • Strong decision-making skills and ability to act independently with good judgement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and standard ERP systems.

Desired Characteristics

  • Medical Device manufacturing experience.
