Job Summary
Affords assistance to the Production Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the Direct Labor Department. Coordinates all activities of the weekend workforce. Additionally, this role encompasses all essential duties for all direct labor positions.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Takes over information at shift change, utilizing Excel to prepare shift change papers.
- Performs basic troubleshooting, cleaning, and maintenance tasks on molding and finishing equipment as directed.
- Utilizes Intouch for production scheduling, tracking, and capturing data.
- Prepares production shop packets and labels.
- Reviews completed shop packets for accuracy.
- Issues non-conforming material reports when defective lining material, bags, etc. are found.
- Performs basic use of SAP: checking inventory balances, locating products and materials.
- Maintains a routine presence on the production floor to monitor and support all activities.
- Works on break(s) as required.
- Works on special projects as directed by the Production Supervisor.
- Maintains alarm systems for the facility and facilitates emergency response activities as designated.
- Ensures accident response, reporting, and investigation.
- Ensures policies, rules, regulations, and procedures are followed.
- Reports and documents incidents.
- Contact department managers if circumstances arise that require their input.
- Trains new hires in job functions in addition to certifying on procedures.
- Participates and complies with all West HSE programs and regulations.
- Maintains a neat and orderly work environment in accordance with West 5S program.
- Maintains methods/procedures and all supporting documentation to meet the requirements of Quality Systems ISO 13485:2016.
- Performs additional duties at the request of the direct supervisor.
Education
A High School Diploma or GED is required.
Work Experience
- Must have at least 5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Must have at least 2 years of Lead experience.

- Basic knowledge and understanding of a computer.
- Willingness to work in a controlled environment, which involves the wearing of a gown, cap and relevant personal protective equipment.
Physical Requirements
Heavy-Exerting up to 100lbs/45kg of force occasionally and/or up to 50lb/22kg of force frequently, and/or up to 20lbs/9kg of force constantly to move objects.
Travel Requirements
5%: Up to 13 business days per year
