Safety

  • Ensure you and all employees are following safety rules, procedures, and regulations 100% of the time.
  • If you see an unsafe condition or action, respond immediately.
  • All 1st aid cases, fork truck accidents, fires, and spills must be handled promptly. Notify the supervisor immediately.
  • Use the Near Miss/Safety Suggestion system to escalate and communicate safety issues.

Workplace

  • Follow-up and enforce 6S requirements daily.
  • Hold individuals accountable for not meeting these expectations, including shadow boards and change over boards.
  • Ensure downtime is used properly during the shift to clean up work areas.
  • Ensure cleanup time is utilized during the shift and hand off VMM to the next shift as desired.

Quality

  • Process sheet and procedure adherence - 100%.
  • Any deviation from process must be handled with a waiver or sample sheet. Notify the foreman.
  • Process changes to increase molds per hour require a fully approved waiver or sample.
  • Audit e-process and procedures daily and make necessary changes.
  • Ensure blocks, wafers, and iron temperatures are taken on time every time.
  • Audit must be completed and turned in daily.
  • Pattern changes and setups must be completed correctly and efficiently.
  • Escalate issues with cores, patterns, core setters, or VMM affecting setup efficiency to the foreman or department manager.
  • Achieve scrap goals for the area of responsibility.
  • Ensure hot checks are pulled and reviewed timely for all jobs.
  • Escalate problems with equipment if not functioning properly or cannot follow process to supervisor.

Teamwork

  • Lead by example and dress appropriately, including PPE.
  • Clean up areas and involve employees.
  • Continuously train employees.
  • Maintain professional communication on radios.
  • Participate in team discussions and decisions.
  • Run a line meeting and involve employees in previous day's results based on Department Head's daily output on Level 4 board.
  • Drive communication between shifts and conduct a brief hand-off meeting at the line.
  • Communicate all aspects of the shift, both positive and negative, through written shift notes and face-to-face conversations.
  • Track DT or problems faced during the shift and ensure thorough communication.

Training

  • Work with employees, especially newer ones, to ensure they perform their jobs 100% of the time.
  • Reinforce the "Run to the Process" philosophy.
  • Treat employees how you would like to be treated, support them, answer their questions, and involve them in daily problem-solving.

General Expectations

  • Support and promote the philosophy of "Be fair, be firm, and be consistent."
  • Participate in yearly employee reviews for members of your department and shift.
  • Ensure daily end-of-shift notes are complete and emailed after the shift.
  • Build working relationships with employees and give feedback as necessary.
  • Know how equipment operates and function. Seek training if unfamiliar.
  • Check email and phone messages before the start of the shift.
  • Lead by example, maintain a positive outlook, and share improvements and lessons learned.
  • Communicate attendance and performance expectations for each employee.
  • Squash shift-to-shift finger-pointing and foster a team attitude.
