Production Team Leader

Job Responsibilities

• Absorb and train operators on machine and quality inspections.
• Provide coaching and direction to operators as needed.
• Perform minor corrections to equipment and report any issues to the area leader or support personnel.
• Ensure the quality of parts produced in the area and report any non-conforming parts to the area leader and quality department.
• Follow daily standard work to complete assigned tasks.
• Review and update open issues board for operational problems.
• Fill out maintenance work orders.
• Conduct daily audits of the work area for 5S and safety, verifying that safety equipment is functioning.
• Communicate issues to the Area Leader or Department Manager.
• Support SQTCM Board and address open issues and concerns.
• Foster positive working relationships with all personnel.
• Recommend proposals for improving products, processes, systems, and work environment through the continuous improvement process.
• Lead by example in terms of work performance and displaying positive behaviors.
• Follow all escalation processes when equipment is down.
• Respond to Andon signals per zone and coordinate the correct support group.
• Fill in for operators that need to temporarily leave the line.
• Verify and update all electronic and physical production documents and systems.
• Perform audits as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Train and lead operators without direct supervisory experience.

Education And/or Experience

• High school diploma or GED.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to set direction and make decisions.
• Good organizational skills.
• High integrity and honesty.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to present information and respond to questions from various groups.

Physical Demands

• General factory environment with occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
• Continuous walking or standing.
• Repetitive motion.
