About the role
The Production Lead oversees and directs their assigned team, ensuring production requirements are met. Acting as an intermediary between supervisors and employees, the Lead provides positive guidance in all processes and assists associates where required.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily production with a hands-on approach, assisting associates and providing positive guidance.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including new associate training on job procedures, quality, and health and safety.
- Set up and tear down new processes.
- Perform audits on received, in-process, or finished products to established quality requirements and document findings on appropriate check sheets.
- Conduct and document 1st Off inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections per guidelines.
- Ensure all quality records are completed legibly and filed or routed appropriately.
- Handle nonconforming product as per the Nonconforming Material Procedure.
- Ensure associates follow all rules, codes of conduct, incident/accident reporting, and proper care protocols.
- Maintain adherence to housekeeping practices.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum grade 12 education.
- Experience in a production-oriented environment; previous leadership and problem-solving skills are an asset.
- Valid Michigan Driver’s license.
- Familiarity with IATF 16949/ISO14001 requirements.
- Demonstrated organizational, communication, and computer skills.
- Blueprint reading is a definite asset.
- Frequent exposure to industrial manufacturing, automotive vehicles, weather elements, chemicals, and robotics.
- Must wear personal protective equipment at all times on the production floor.

Physical Requirements
- Alternating between sitting and standing; climbing stairs, ladders, scaffolding, or ramps.
- Crouching/stooping, driving, near/far visual acuity, fine and gross motor manipulation.
- Hearing, keyboarding, kneeling, lifting/carrying, moving objects.
- Peripheral visual acuity, pushing or pulling, reaching overhead or below.
- Repetitive task performance, sitting, speaking, standing, using foot or leg controls, walking.
Environmental & Cognitive Requirements
- Climate-controlled production facility with no long-term exposure to dangerously loud noise or extreme temperatures.
- Execute tasks independently; learn and/or memorize tasks; maintain concentration/focus on tasks.
- Work in close proximity to others.
Attendance Requirements
All team members are expected to perform duties in a timely manner, either on-site or remotely (authorized situations only), as agreed upon with their manager.
