Responsibilities
- Maintains situational awareness of the overnight feed delivery schedule and the SLA deadlines associated with each partner data solution.
- Troubleshoots technical failures methodically and remediate them under time pressure and deadline constraints.
- Documents every overnight incident: the failure, the diagnosis, the remediation performed, and the delivery outcome, maintaining an accurate handoff record for the daytime team and the Lead.
- Contributes to the runbook library by identifying gaps, proposing new remediation procedures, and flagging recurring failure modes that warrant a permanent engineering fix.
- Provides a structured shift handoff at the end of the overnight window, surfacing open issues, partner impacts, and items requiring daytime follow-up.
- Works under the direction of the Lead, Partner Data Feed Support, and coordinates with peer overnight engineers to maintain continuous coverage across the shift rotation.
- Escalates pipeline-level issues to the Partner Data Services engineering team in Data and Analytics through the defined escalation path when a failure cannot be remediated through runbook procedures.
- Supports the onboarding of new and modified feeds into overnight coverage by reviewing runbooks and surfacing operability concerns before a feed goes live.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in production support, data operations, data analysis, or a closely related hands-on technical role.
- Strong SQL skills sufficient to independently investigate and diagnose data feed failures in a production environment.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical failures methodically and remediate them under time pressure and deadline constraints.
- Experience with file-based data processing and an understanding of how data is extracted, transformed, and delivered as structured output files.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal real-time supervision, exercising sound judgment about when to remediate and when to escalate.
- Willingness and ability to work an overnight schedule on a Monday through Friday (24x5) coverage model, including rotation.
- Clear written communication skills; able to document incidents and shift handoffs precisely.
