Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receives work assignments from Shop Supervisor and discusses job to minimize questions about what is to be done.
- Primary duty will be the insulating of steel and aluminum tank trailers.
- Ability to learn how to operate welding equipment and related equipment to perform weld procedures, which ensure proper weld size, weld penetration, fit-up and appearance.
- Uses devices (fixtures) to maintain correct positioning.
- Ability to learn methods of grinding welds, deburr rough metal, produce various finishes on metal.
- Performs rework as required to ensure completeness and compliance with established specifications.
- Coincides with other employees to ensure needed materials are in the work area.
- Uses hand tools as required.
- Follows established safety procedures and policies at all times.
- Maintains clean, orderly work area to minimize safety hazards.
- Performs other duties as apparent or assigned.
- Demonstrates ability to work in a cooperative manner with others.
