Production Support

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled individual to join our team as a Grade 1 Production Support, contributing to the creation of our premium headwear. In this role, you will support the embroidery decoration team by performing tasks such as trimming hats, quality control, blocking, packing, and organizing workstations. This position offers opportunities to increase earning potential by advancing through skill steps and progressing to higher grades.

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety protocols and perform routine housekeeping tasks and safety checks.
• Interpret work orders with attention to detail to ensure products meet the highest standards of accuracy and quality, reflecting the artwork.
• Use proper tools and supplies for each task to maintain safe working conditions and product quality.
• Report items that need replacement.
• Contribute to quality control by inspecting materials and finished products; understand what can be reworked or must be scrapped.
• Interpret Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and pass only good product.
• Prepare and organize production, confirming all order requirements are met.
• Inspect and prepare finished products for shipping (QC, trim, package).
• Demonstrate competencies for various machinery and techniques to progress to the next level.
• Understand and communicate PASS vs. FAIL criteria for caps (e.g., loose threads, crooked art, bad caps).
• Read Purchase Orders (PO) to match art, cap style, color, size, dimensions, special instructions, and packing instructions.
• Adhere to safety protocols for assigned equipment and production areas (e.g., turning off heat guns at break).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree preferred but not mandatory.
• Embroidery, sewing, and/or digitizing experience desired but not mandatory.
• Basic computer knowledge helpful; experience with in-house programs (e.g., Exenta, Quickturn, NetSuite, Shopify).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, sit, and/or walk for 90% of the day; occasionally reach, bend, and move inside the facility.
• Fine motor skills required for using wrists, hands, and fingers.
• Close visual acuity, color vision, and depth perception.
• Able to hear and effectively communicate with peers.
• Ability to lift, move, or pull 10-50 lbs occasionally throughout the day.
• Moderate noise due to sewing machine operation in a warehouse setting.
• Some assignments may be in a building with limited climate control (extreme temperatures).

Progression and Proficiency

Grade 1 Production Support roles offer opportunities to increase earning potential by advancing through the following steps:

• Step 1: Proficiency in QC/Trim and Blocking Machine.
• Step 2: Intermediate-level QC/Trim + Blocking Machine and Shipping Assistant.
• Step 3: Advanced-level QC/Trim, Blocking, and Shipping Assistant. Ability to sign off on Operator Preproduction Samples, pull art in Shopfloor, create orders in Exenta for M-type orders, and prepare hats for Sample Operator.
• Step 4: Cross-trained in one portion of Samples (Step 3 + additional training).
• Step 3 Cross-Trained in all Samples: Includes QC/Trim proficiency (48 hits < 30 min; 48 3D hits* < 45 min), QC for crooked art, loose thread, color match, underlay sticking out, frayed thread, dirty/damaged caps, and cap style. Blocking machine proficiency (data not yet set).
