Production Supervisor-Synthetics - 3rd Shift

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Plan and manage the daily operation of assigned department(s), including the daily management and maintenance of staffing levels (direct/contract) and budget accountability to accomplish plant objectives in an effective and efficient manner
• Provide necessary training and reinforcement to workforce to ensure they understand and can apply the skills required to produce quality products according to Greene, Tweed and customer requirements
• Administer Company rules, regulations & safety policies, initiating and recommending corrective actions
• Provide direction, and strength of Leadership, initiating communication and working cross functionally across all levels, collaborating between shifts/departments on a consistent basis. Addresses issues and maintains availability to operators to answer questions as required
• Actively analyze department performance against metrics and identify opportunity for continuous improvement. Creates, posts and communicates to ensure everyone understands their role in achieving plant commitments
• Guide workforce in the compliance to Standard Work, recommends improvements in Work Instructions, methods, processes, policies and equipment and ensures operators are informed

Required Minimum Qualifications

• Education/Certifications: HS Diploma/GED required; Preference given to candidates with BS DegreeLean/Six Sigma certification desired
• Skills and Experience: 5 years of previous manufacturing experience, including exposure to leading/directing the work of others; Ideal candidate will have 3 years’ direct supervision experience in a manufacturing environmentPrevious experience in a Lean manufacturing environment, focused on continuous improvement and High Performance Work teams desiredDemonstrated ability to lead by example, serving as a positive role model to others and embracing standard work requiredStrong communication skills required, including the ability to effectively communicate across multiple levels in the organization.Metric driven/analytical problem solving experience required - root cause analysis/six sigma training a plus
