About the role
We are on a mission to innovate and revolutionize global transportation technology. The Production Supervisor - Rail is responsible for daily operations in a manufacturing or production environment, ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining quality, safety, and efficiency standards.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and oversee the daily production schedule to meet output and quality targets.
- Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to maintain efficiency.
- Ensure production equipment is properly maintained and operates safely.
- Supervise and motivate a team of production employees, including providing training, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Conduct daily team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and expectations.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all products meet established quality standards by conducting regular inspections and audits.
- Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to address defects or deviations.
- Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing safety policies and conducting regular safety audits.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, regulations, and industry standards.
- Track and report on key production metrics, such as output, downtime, and waste.
- Maintain accurate records of production activities, employee attendance, and equipment maintenance.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred, but not required.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Minimum 1-2 years plus in a supervisory role.
- Technical and business knowledge to include financial modeling and analysis using Microsoft Excel; proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications is also required, including but not limited to Word and PowerPoint.
- Prior experience with ERP environments and planning in database tools required.
Skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Proficiency in using production planning tools and software.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices.
