About the role
The Production Supervisor will manage small work teams in a fast-paced, high volume, unionized, manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the production plan is met
- Analyzing issues with other roles and driving continuous improvement
- Leading the team to improve safety and enforce safety protocols
- Understanding and addressing losses during shifts
- Proactively analyzing quality KPIs and guiding Team Leaders
- Managing personnel allocation, absenteeism, and team building
- Building effective business relationships and leading kaizen projects
Responsibilities
Coordinate all activities to meet business metrics, implement SPW processes, and improve Zone performances. Activities include:
- Ensuring the production plan is met
- Driving and implementing continuous improvement activities
- Improving safety in the area
- Using the C-Matrix to coordinate World Class Manufacturing activities
- Proactively analyzing quality KPIs and addressing issues
- Ensuring proper allocation of personnel
- Mobilizing support groups and resources for problem-solving
- Leading kaizen project activities focused on Safety, Cost, Quality, and Throughput improvements
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to work any shift and overtime as required
- Excellent organization, written, and oral communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various levels of employees
- Goal-oriented self-starter with ability to lead teams
- Possess knowledge of the broader manufacturing organization
- Ability to build effective business relationships with plant leadership and customers
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field
- 2 or more years experience in supervision in a high volume environment
- Demonstrated ability to coach/mentor/develop team members
- Previous experience working in a union environment
- Experience in continuous improvement systems and lean manufacturing
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Suite software programs
